Allergen Information

Please ask us before you order
Auntie's Kitchen is a small home kitchen, not a segregated commercial facility. We regularly cook with gluten, dairy, nuts, and other major allergens, and dishes are prepared in a shared space where cross-contamination is possible even when we take care. Menu descriptions on this site are not a complete or guaranteed allergen list. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please contact us at willowsbray@gmail.com or 07916 350766 before you order, and we'll tell you what we know about a specific dish. If we can't be confident a dish is safe for you, we'll say so.
The 14 major allergens
Under UK food law, these are the allergens we're required to be able to tell you about. Several of them appear regularly in our cooking (for example, gluten in chapati, dairy in curries and ghee, and mustard seed in tempering):
- Celery
- Cereals containing gluten (wheat, barley, rye, oats)
- Crustaceans
- Eggs
- Fish
- Lupin
- Milk
- Molluscs
- Mustard
- Tree nuts
- Peanuts
- Sesame
- Soya
- Sulphur dioxide and sulphites
Severe allergies
If your allergy is severe (at risk of anaphylaxis), we'd rather you order somewhere we can be certain about, than risk a reaction. Please talk to us directly rather than relying on the website alone.
